7 Productive Habits Of A Highly Efficient Real Estate Investor

Today, it’s going to be all about being productive and about our mindset. We are going to share with you a couple of tips that work pretty well if you have a very hectic and busy schedule.

Connecting your mindset, your productive habits, your body and all the potential energy that you could have is essential. This is one of the keys to becoming a successful person and an efficient real estate investor

Being disciplined and having good habits is not only something that you have to implement in your job, but you also have to implement a healthy routine in order to achieve your goals.

Good habits like sleeping well, eating healthy food, and meditation will help you focus on your goals and in your businesses.

1. Follow a sleeping schedule

It’s not only about the hours you get to sleep, it’s about the sleeping quality. Lots of people are able to sleep for about 8 or 9 hours and that doesn’t mean they feel better when they wake up in the morning.

There are some disturbing things that could interrupt our sleeping and having good energy after a good sleep is vital to becoming a successful investor.

There are some devices that can help you measure the quality of your sleep. They measure it through points from 1 to 100. It depends on some factors like productivity, the number of times that you went to the bathroom during the night, the frequent time you go to bed, and others.

You have to distribute your energy during the whole day and not just a part of the day. You may feel very tired if you use all your energy just in the morning.

One hour of exercise every day is enough to feel better and be healthy. If you do more than that, you may end up feeling exhausted. You need to complete your routine and do all the important things you organized for that day.

2. Brush your teeth

Brush your teeth as soon as you wake up. It sounds easy but it’s a habit that makes your productivity grow because it means you’re ready to start your day.

While we sleep, our body and our brain never stops working, they work to purify our body and recover those necessary energies. When we wake up, one way to get rid of the impurities our body accumulates is by brushing our teeth.

3. Eat healthily

Good nutrition is important for the proper functioning of the body. Never skip a meal and try to divide them on breakfast, lunch and dinner, everyday at the same time.

It is advisable to eat four or five meals a day including snacks so that the metabolism continues to work and the body produces the necessary energy to perform throughout the day.

It is important to never skip breakfast because in the morning the mind is at full capacity, it is 100% fresh, we have nothing in mind because we rest and we are simply 100% productive. Mornings are practically the greatest point of creativity for a real estate investor.

What if you start working really hard and you don’t eat well? It’s like the car, eventually you drive it here and there, but the gas runs out and you’re going to have to recharge it again.

4. Turn off your cell phone

Our cellphone makes our life easier but at the same time causes lots of distractions. When the cell phone rings, we waste too much time checking it every minute.

Focusing on your real estate work will be difficult if we have too many distractions around us. Your productivity could fall to 50% if you don’t focus on what you’re doing.

Productive people habits
Your phone is a source of distractions, and it is best to keep it quiet while you carry out your investment tasks.

You can’t allow yourself to stop doing important things related to your job because you have too many distractions.

Set a working schedule where you can focus on what you need to do. Whether it is sending an email, creating content, something related to property management or marketing. You could take short breaks because you also need to give your mind a space to relax.

Coffee breaks are very important because you can check things related to your personal life at that time. For those who work at hotels or offices it’s easier because they know that they’ll have one hour break and one or two coffee breaks.

The purpose of this is to be able to focus on important things without putting your life behind. We need to give our brain some time to recover from stress and work pressure.

5. Work out

You have to find a balance. Is not recommendable to exercise that much because you will end up without energy and won’t be capable of finishing those important things you had planned.

Not exercising at all is very bad because you enter in a cycle where you don’t make an effort at all and you lose your physical skills. One daily hour of exercises is enough to keep a healthy lifestyle.

Exercising does not mean three hours of kickboxing or one hour of lifting weights and high intensity activities. The only thing that you need is to have at least half an hour of movement during the day and something that helps the rhythm of our heart to beat a little harder than normal, in such a way that it is expelling blood and bringing oxygen to the necessary parts of our body.

Remember that the better our body and brain are oxygenated, the better ideas come to mind and this translates into better productivity to dedicate ourselves to being a successful real estate investor.

6. Keep studying

When we talk about studying, we don’t mean going to university or taking a course but simply feeding the brain, feeding curiosity, perhaps because of the busy lifestyle that many people are used to, especially in the world of real estate investments, they don’t have time to sit down and read a book but you can always combine the exercises with listening to an educational audio book related to the topic of business or Real Estate.

Many audiobooks can teach you how to be more productive and how to be a better real estate investor, teach you much more about investing to keep expanding on the subject and keep growing until you are the best. Remember, the more you grow, the more difficult it is to stay on top, because you are competing with people who are now much better qualified than you. Therefore, you have to continue educating yourself on the subject.

7. Plan your next day at night

Productive people
Organization is key when you are a real estate investor, make sure you have control of your day.

This last habit is extremely important, especially for busy people. If you are a busy person and have no organization, you simply are not going to be productive.

The best example is the doctors, the lawyers, all of them are not just sitting all day waiting for their clients to arrive. No, they are the ones who must adjust their schedule.

There are two classes of people:

  • Those who work late and sleep a little more in the mornings.
  • Those who get up early but go to bed early.

In the case of those who work late, they usually plan their next day at night while those who get up early plan their day early in the morning, it all depends on your routine, but planning will help you to be more organized and therefore more productive as a real estate investor.

You have the option to choose what is best for you but what’s important is that you have to plan it beforehand.

The planning doesn’t have to be something overly uncomfortable, just go through your agenda, check what you have tomorrow and then just prioritize what is important, but not urgent and what is important but very urgent.
